Halfmen

Few Halfmen exist in the Duchy, for many of the Duchy's citizens will drop what they are doing when they see one of Orcish or Ogrish blood, and go searching for a rope, pitchfork, and torches.

Those that do live in the Duchy are reviled and tormented wherever they go, and bear no legal status under the Law of the land as humanoids - rather, they are animals, even to the point of being slaves.

The only place a Halfman can earn the slightest amount of redemption is through military service - if he manages to survive the 'accidents' that occur, and achieve rank despite the prejudices of all those around them, he can be granted a Writ of the Duchy that gives him the same rights as a serf.
